Emperor Specialty Foods Ltd, founded in 1986, is a trusted name in importing and distributing premium specialty foods such as fresh and dried mushrooms, truffles, and other gourmet products. Initially focused on fresh shiitake mushroom production, Emperor Specialty Foods Ltd expanded to include mushrooms from China and local sources in 1995. By 1998, the company became the first Canadian business to regularly import fresh mushrooms from China by ocean shipment, expanding their distribution to the U.S. and throughout Canada. In 2001, they opened an office in China to enhance supplier relations and diversify their product offerings, which now include fruits and vegetables.
