At Lokal Izakaya, both the interior and cuisine are elegant and understated Nordic-Japanese, with appetizers intended to be shared around the table. In Japan, the izakaya is the relaxed pub where office workers meet and unwind with beer and snacks after work. In Stockholm and other Western cities, the term is more often used by Japanese restaurants that want to highlight their gastronomic sophistication and stand out from the usual sushi bars.
