About the Business
Tom was born near Fort Walton, Florida, USA. His career is focused on photography (stills and videos) and on bronze scupture. He studied art at the University of Dallas, Texas and did graduate art studies at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas. Here he studied photography under Garry Winogrand and was empolyed as assistant professor of sculpture. He has won awards for and shown his work in both New York City and Marin County, California. He finds ideas for his work in the natural environment along the coast of northern California and in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. His working process is to find, in the land, unique anthropomorpic forms that can be visually merged or juxtaposed together to make a scene that communicates a new and engaging perspective to the viewer. His work has been influenced by artists such as Walter De Maria, Richard Long, Ana Mendieta and Andy Goldworthy. He has worked in the field of public art since 2000, when he was commissioned by the government of Saudi
