Childpeace Montessori School is a leading Portland Montessori school providing authentic, AMI-certified education for children ages 12 months through 8th grade. Founded in 1976, Childpeace has served Portland families for nearly five decades, cultivating a warm and nurturing community where children are celebrated as individuals while developing into confident, curious, and compassionate learners. Located in the heart of Northwest Portland at 1516 NW Thurman Street, Childpeace occupies an expansive campus featuring a 40,000 square foot main building and a dedicated 8,000 square foot middle school facility. The campus includes thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces such as a playground, basketball court, large grass play area, greenhouse, and raised garden beds where students grow plants and vegetables throughout the school year. This unique urban setting provides students with access to libraries, cultural institutions, and community resources that enrich their educational experience.
