Cumberland Park Plumbing is a local, family-owned plumbing business serving Cumberland Park and the streets around it. Much of the suburb was built out through the inter-war and post-war years, leaving solid-brick and stone bungalows on modest blocks. That older housing brings real plumbing quirks we deal with often. Plenty of the pre-1940 cottages were first plumbed in galvanised steel, and surviving sections now corrode inside, restricting flow and staining fixtures. On the heavier clay soils south of Cross Road, the original earthenware drainage lines crack and let roots in, especially between Winston Avenue and Goodwood Road where mature trees push into ageing clay pipes.
